Kids Sailing Camp 6
When: Mon, Jul 26 2010 9:00am
The best place for a child to start sailing is in our Learn-To-Sail Summer Camp. The ages of the campers range from 9 to 16 and they all must be able to swim 75 yards and tread water for 3 minutes. This program is designed to help children develop sailing skills in our safe and stable White 14s. Working in small groups, participants also learn about responsibility and collaboration, while experiencing the practical application of science and mathematics! Because the study of sailing can be a lifelong process, our young sailors are able to challenge themselves, setting and moving toward their own goals. Things that they will learn: Sailing and boating safety, nautical terminology, knots and cleating, care of boats and equipment, rigging and derigging, points of sail, and sailing team roles and tasks. Camp runs Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:30pm.
